- Stock up on food and water. Namibia has vast, remote regions. If you see a supermarket, it’s smart to grab some supplies before continuing your journey.
- Respect nature and wildlife. Keep your distance from wildlife, don’t leave trash behind, and only camp at official campsites.
1. Go on a self-drive safari in Etosha National Park
Etosha National Park is one of the best places in Namibia to experience wildlife up close. Explore the park in your own 4x4 and spot elephants, zebras, giraffes and even rhinos roaming freely across the vast savannah. Drive from one watering hole to the next and discover Namibia’s incredible wildlife at your own pace. Since the park is open from sunrise to sunset, you'll have plenty of time to enjoy an unforgettable safari adventure.
2. Watch the sunrise over the Sossusvlei dunes
Sossusvlei is home to some of Namibia’s most iconic landscapes, with towering orange-red dunes stretching across the desert. For breathtaking views, climb Dune 45, one of the country’s most famous sand dunes and a popular stop on any Namibia road trip. Standing 170 metres high, it offers spectacular panoramic views and is located just a short drive from Deadvlei. To enjoy the best light and avoid the midday heat, we recommend starting your hike early in the morning.
